!Story! The Sims Head to the Silver Screen

"Time for yet another bad game-to-movie conversion: 20th Century Fox has acquired the rights to make a film based on The Sims. On one level it makes sense; the game has sold a bazillion copies and has a large and loyal following. But given that the game's action involves mundane tasks like getting your Sim to eat, sleep, and use the crapper, what on earth is the movie supposed to be about?

Brian Lynch, who wrote "Scary Movie 3," will handle script responsibilities; Steve Asbell will oversee the project for Fox while Sims studio head Rod Humble will do the same for EA. The story is under wraps at the moment, but Humble dropped this hint:

The Sims has done an interactive version of an old story, which is what it's like to have infinite power and how do you deal with it. Given that that's an old story, you can imagine how easily that would translate to traditional story telling."

!Story! Katrina Cottage Occupants Face New Displacement!

Thousands of cottages housing hurricane victims on the Mississippi Gulf Coast will be vacated next month, even though many of their occupants aren't ready to move and may have no place to go if forced out.

According to agreements between the state agency and cities, the cottages will need to be emptied by the end of January and removed by March, Womack said.

Housing advocates, residents and some local officials worry that forcing out residents, many of whom are trying to rebuild their homes, will aggravate an already dire housing situation.

"We just can't allow these cottages to stay in place where they're unsafe or degrading the property values of homes around them," Womack said.

We are entering a new year, readers and I have high hopes for 09. I plan on doing more things, getting more active and changing my life for the better. But let me reminisce about 08 for a few.

So here is my list of what I considered "5 Good Things That Happened in 08".

1. I got my first tattoo! It is a black and pink butterfly. It is located on my hand. I got it for my birthday and I love it and yes it hurt so bad!!

2. My Honey bought me a laptop for Christmas. It is a pink dell studio 15. It had a built in camera which would be useful if I wanted to start putting vblogs on here.

3. I rediscover my favorite game of all time, "McKenzie & Co". I got this game back in 95, I believe, as a gift. It is a PC game that is so awesome. I use to play it everyday, all day! And I do mean everyday, all day!! The goal of the game is to get a date to the prom. Yes, that was the whole purpose of the game. First you picked you you wanted to be, then you picked which guy you were going after. Then you had to get him to ask you out and if that went well, he asked you to the prom. I might have to do a whole post about this game.

4. Bush is finally leaving the White House!! Thank the Lord!!!!

5. I got a sewing machine for Mother's Day. I hardly use it, but I begged for one and my honey got it. It's a Brother and one day I hope to make great things with it!

That is my list. Of course a whole bunch of other stuff happened, but I can't remember anything else at this time!
